You get to choose between using one of the lights or the two of them together.  Love the versatility of this device. You can bend the filaments that are made of a sturdy material that avoids breaking, into whatever position you need.  I use it mainly for reading, since it just light the spot you need lowering energy cost.  You can use it anywhere you like, it is small enough to carry in your bag, on a trip, finding lost objects in a car.  I love to read at night and this is a great way to not disturb my spouse while he is sleeping.  Note: I received this product free for review and an honest and unbiased opinion.

This double spot light is great for traveling or just reading at night, you don't have to light up the place to have a quality light to do your stuff, being that reading, knitting, sketching or just illuminating the keyboard of your laptop.  The clasp is very convenient to attach the light and the the stems can be bend at any angle. Also, the lights are independent so you can light one and keep the other off if you don't need that much light. It also has two levels of brightness.  The quality of the light is amazing, so you have a decent source of illumination to don't strain your eyes.  I've used it to draw in adult coloring books to relieve stress at night and the light is perfect.
