According to WebMD and general Knowledge:
One of the most dangerous aspects of hypertension is that you may not know that you have it. In fact, nearly one-third of people who have high blood pressure don't know it.
The only way to know if your blood pressure is high is through regular checkups. This is especially important if you have a close relative who has high blood pressure.
If your blood pressure is extremely high, there may be certain symptoms to look out for, including:
- Severe headache
- Fatigue or confusion
- Vision problems
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing
- Irregular heartbeat
- Blood in the urine
- Pounding in your chest, neck, or ears
If you have any of these symptoms, see a doctor immediately. You could be having a hypertensive crisis that could lead to a heart attack or stroke.
But with all the Stress in our lives, at some moment we may be having blood pressure problems and don’t even notice, or just pass it as a momentary thing. With the agitated life we live there is always something and it builds up in your system that when you finally have any of the symptoms above mentioned, it’s too late and you may have develop a condition that needs regular medication.
In my case, I started having blood pressure problems since I was 25 years old, that’s when you start to take medication for a month or so and decide you are OK, and forget about it. Now I have extreme high blood pressure and have to take medication daily which sucks, but that is life.
I’ve used blood pressure monitors, preferring the old sphygmomanometer above all for accuracy. But the technology is so advance that there are a lot of types of monitors you can use, from the new ones I preferred the wrist monitor and often argued with doctors defending my Omron wrist monitor.
Recently I had the opportunity to try an upper arm blood pressure monitor from Coosh, and was impressed with the accuracy of the reading and the high quality of the product. And according to my cardiologist, the best way to measure is to tap to the artery just above your elbow, and it’s exactly where the Coosh Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor has it’s detector of heartbeat. This is a great product to monitor your blood pressure at home, is easy to use, FDA Certified, easy to carry, large LCD.
You have to read very well the instructions on how to use it or you’ll have a bad reading. I made some mistakes at first since I was using it as an old sphygmomanometer.
Always consult with your physician about your health.
Note: I received this product free for my honest review.
